Thanks for dropping by. American Binding & Publishing Company is a publishing company who
enjoys working with writers. Our way of publishing is far less expensive than most self publishing companies because our
minimum order is 25 books and no up front fees except for ISBN or copyright (both optional). We do not claim any rights to the books -
all copyrights and ISBN numbers follow the author and title. There is only a simple contract between us and the author explaining our
procedures. Our books have attractive, colorful covers and we encourage author participation. The majority of our books are 5½X 8½, perfect
bound. Cookbooks, manuals, and some children books are bound with coil binding, which allows the pages of the book to lay flat. Once the
author's book is ready for publishing, we send out a free sample for approval.
Misconceptions about Print On Demand
:
Books are of poor quality.
Our books are comparable to any book on any bookstore shelf. Our covers are designed with the assistance and cooperation of the author, and
a sample copy is mailed to the author for his approval before publishing.
Newspapers won’t review books.
Print on Demand books are no different from any other book. The rule for book reviewing by newspapers is not how the book is published, but how
informative, well written, and interesting the text matter.
Delays in order fulfillment.
There is no such thing as order fulfillment delays. The books are always available at the publisher’s fingertips and can be printed, bound and
ready for shipments within the week. At least with our books.
Extra expenses, or hidden costs are often thrust upon the author.
This is one factor that we have never heard of or been involved with. Costs of publishing per book is always provided to the author before any
publishing begins. These costs are always provided in the guidelines.
Terms and conditions change without notification.
This argument is without foundation. Guidelines and contracts or agreements determine the costs and product of the book.
Print on Demand Publishers do not use standard publishing contracts.
The author should thank God that we don’t use the same contracts that the large companies use. Those contracts limit the author to small
royalties, no rights to their work, and control the books forever. In our contracts, we submit more of an agreement of good faith between
the author and our company, making sure that the authors retain all rights to their work. They spent many hours writing and rewriting the
book so they deserve the rewards.
